Scraptavaganza!

scrapbooking page

What a fun weekend I had! One of my favorite hobbies is scrapbooking, and I got to indulge ALL weekend. Serena and I joined my mom at her vacation house for a full weekend of crop-till-you-drop! All three of us like scrapbooking, so we all brought our materials up to the lake house and worked together. It was SO fun. Believe it or not, all three of us were working on scrapbooks about trips we'd taken to England! Three separate trips, mind you. Mom was working on a book about our trip in 2000, I was working on my trip from this past spring (2002) and Serena was working on HER trip from this past spring. Quite a coincidence, I think.

Mom and Bill (and Dudley) were already up at the lake house. Serena and I arrived on Friday evening. We put our scrapping supplies down, but didn't set down to work that night. Instead, we all drank some wine and Mom, Serena, and I played scrabble. My mom is GOOD at that game! I think the three of us were good matches for each other.

On Saturday, after a fantastic breakfast of french toast, banana bread, mini blueberry muffins, and fruit, we sat down to work. We worked all day, just cropping and sticking and chatting. We took breaks for meals and boating, but other than that we were pretty much scrapping. Serena and I counted up the hours later...we worked for 12 hours that day! ALT TEXT GOES HERE

We worked some more on Sunday morning, and all three of us got more done than we thought we would. Mom finished her book for the 2000 trip, and Serena and I both got quite a lot done. It's so interesting to see other people's work...different styles, different perspectives. I always learn a lot from others. Serena's work is very archival - precise and detailed, while my mom has great story-telling journaling and a collage style of scrapping. I guess my style is more graphic, and I try to have an emphasis on photography. It's fun to share all our ideas!

I am definitely going to plan on having another scrapbooking weekend soon!
